BES Express 5.0.4 Setup.exe: Crashes! Extras: How to Migrate users from BlackBerry Professional Software to Express! UPDATED!!!

Make sure your regional settings are set to ENGLISH US or UK so time etc to be displayed in English. (Your can make the Additional Setting to Euro and correct DDDMMYYYY format if you are in EU).

Run the setup.exe and you are good to go!

P.S.
BesAdmin dont forget not to be member of Domain Admins and ViewOnlyAdmin on Exchange!
Install Exchange Management Tools on new BB! (Couple prereqs needed from IIS role on Windows 2008 and to enable Window Media Player install Desktop Experience Feature)

Comment:

Seems that BESAdmin simply as local admin wont work to send/push emails. Once added (after BBEX 5.0.4 install) to Domain admins all worked fine!

P.S.2
For migrating users (even though on manual said that wont work from BlackBerry Professional Software)  just download the correct resource Kit (our case brk5.0.4.8) install the Enterprise Transporter and use correct SQL names to connect and migrate a test user. Official guide here.

Please shutdown ALL BB services on OLD server and leave only the ADMINISTRATION (2) services on the new BB Express prior migration

Once test migration completed restart new server. BB device with test account should work fine with no extra config!

If all well, migrate all users and you can unistall OLD server or keep it shutdown for your own purposes and restart your NEW BB!

* IF YOUR USER(S) HAVE BEEN MIGRATED SUCCESSFULLY, AFTER REBOOT BOTH SERVERS CAN BE OPERATIONAL (UP AND RUNNING)!

YES ITS TESTED, I HAVE BOTH SERVERS UP/RUNNING WITH DIFF SRP ID etc AND I LEFT SOME USERS ON THE OLD AND SOME ON THE NEW - BOTH RECEIVE AND SEND EMAILS FINE! Of course once you migrate all your users you can remove totally your old server as it will be no longer needed (Open Licence in Blackberry Manager and copy/backup the keys of your OLD server so you can TRADE IN for BES 10 prior end of 2013) and if you are planning to have BES 10 you need an BES Express 5.0.4 (latest) just o manage older devices (non BES 10 compatible)!

Now you are ready to install your BB 10 Server :-)

Pay attention in the order of installation of the 3 modules!
a. BDS
b. BMS
c. UDS

*** NOTE:
Installing BlackBerry Device Service, Universal Device Service, and BlackBerry Management Studio on the same host server

> Pay special attention to SSL port per Service:
444 to BDS
668 to BMS
443 to UDS

> UDS requires an SSL cert and DNS record - Check Manual last section.

When installing Universal Device Service, port 8081 needs to be free! In case this is used by BDS module please see below photo or above link to change port to 8085 and restart the instance. You need to click "BACK" in the setup so UDS can find 8081 free!

Enjoy and feel free to ask any questions!
I have successfully setup BES 10 + Fusion + UDS. And activated Z10 etc.

NOTE: Another good guide I can recommend for doing/migrating on existing old server can be found here (My preference is Clean Install on VM).
